Xiaomi obtains patent for strangely aligned camera module

Xiaomi has secured a new patent for a "lighting" shaped camera module from China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).

Xiaomi is one of the most popular brands when it comes to producing affordable smartphones. We have already seen some of the best budget-friendly smartphones from the company. Not only affordability, but the company is also focusing on innovations. We have already seen futuristic-looking “Mi Mix” phones, and lately, the company had demonstrated 3rd generation in-display selfie camera.

Now, the company patents a new type of camera design, which looks like a lightning-shaped rear camera module. However, the main purpose behind this design is not yet known, but it seems fascinating camera angle. Overall, four camera sensors can be seen in the provided image.

Overall, the company is likely to bring a new camera concept. But filing a patent doesn’t mean we will surely see this sort of product. Usually, companies do this to secure their intellectual property, which they are planning for. What do you think about this story? Please do let’s know in the below comment section!
