Recently, OnePlus has launched its flagship series with OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones. There was another smartphone named OnePlus 9R, which is a lighter version. It was believed to be exclusively available for India, but a new report tells us a different story.

According to the Chinese news portal, the OnePlus 9R will be launched in China’s domestic market next month. The source didn’t reveal the exact date, but it is likely to happen anytime in April month. We should expect similar specifications as what we have seen with the global variant. However, there is no official confirmation from the company. Hence, we should wait for the final announcement.

OnePlus 9R Specifications

The OnePlus 9R features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ Fluid AMOLED display at 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. It brings the 120Hz refresh rate panel for smooth operations. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is a bumped-up version of last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865+. As far as optics are concerned, there is a quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization. It gets support from 16MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors. There is a 16MP shooter on the front for selfies.

The device runs on the latest Android 11 OS on top of custom Oxygen OS. The company recently announced that the OnePlus 9 series will use ColorOS for the domestic market. So it would be interesting to see whether it will ship with Oxygen OS or ColorOS for the Chinese market. Further, the device packs a 4500 mAh non-removable battery with 65W fast charging support. All the necessary connectivity options are present on this device.
